            The Market for Distributed Generation (DG)

CAPTIVE POWER PLANTS : which could be "on site" or "off site" (availing of Wheeling and Banking facilities offered by the grid').  Considering the prevailing/forecasted quality and cost of grid supply to Industrial/Commercial Consumers, a DG facility (based on RET's) would make economic sense.

IPP's : there is emerging interest in entrepreneurs to invest on medium capacity DG facilities (based upon RET's) with Power being supplied to the grid as per "feed in tariffs" approved by respective Electricity Regulators.

DISTRIBUTION UTILITIES : who would benefit from "tail end generation" from view points of grid stability as well as economics (T&D) cost/losses are invariably high in developing economies).
