MPPL pioneered the firing of low density crop residues as primary fuel of a 4.5 MW steam cycle power plant...linked with various sustainable development initiatives.  The world's 1st CER's from GS validated CDM project were issued from this plant.

MPPL constructing, at investment of around 200 Euro million, Biomass Power Plants, in India for its Sister Company Green Plant Energy Pvt. Ltd.

MPPL, supported by GTZ, is registering with CDM a Programme of Activities (PoA) for 600 MWe of Modular Biomass Power Plants in India.

MPPL is promoting a Renewable Energy SEZ (Special Economic Zone) at Channai in India...under Project Company "FEZ Projects Private Limited"...spread over 270 hectares...with investment of around Euro 200 million.

Govt. of Tamil Nadu will be share holder in FEZ and Govts of India & Tamil Nadu are giving various fiscal support & incentives to the project.
